One of the great things about shopping in Japan is that many big-name brands produce special collections and collaboration products that are available only in the country. The latest release on our radar is this new Adidas line, a collaboration with shoe store Atmos and tattoo artist Ukiyoemon from Osaka-based tattoo parlour and art gallery Three Tides Tattoo.

The collection features a pair of classic Adidas Superstar sneakers and a black track jacket, both adorned with ukiyo-e woodblock art prints designed by Ukiyoemon. The tattoo artist is best known for his contemporary interpretation of ukiyo-e art mixed with modern day elements like his bartending geisha or salaryman samurai.

The sneakers (¥14,000) see the old-school Adidas Superstar style updated with a colourful print of Mt Fuji and exploding fireworks.

The shoes also feature bright blue shoelaces and a red tag with 'Atmos' spelt out in katakana near the outer heels.

To bring your look up another notch, you can also add this stylish ukiyo-e track jacket (¥9,990) to your closet. The back of the jacket features multiple ukiyo-e prints with the Adidas and atmos logos printed overtop.

The sneakers and jacket go on sale this Saturday March 6 and you can purchase them online or at Atmos stores. Be quick, though – stocks are likely to be limited after this week’s pre-sale lottery, which closed today.
