If dining at Tokyo's ninja restaurant and flying around showing off your best ninja moves are high up on your Tokyo itinerary, you might want to book a stay at this hotel featuring a room fit for a ninja. This thematic room in the recently opened Mimaru apartment hotel in Okachimachi, Ueno is a ninja fan’s ultimate fantasy. It's got official ninja cred, too, as it's designed with the help of the Japan Ninja Council.

Cosy sleeping quarters

The hotel room is rather spacious, offering enough beds for eight guests. Between six single beds and a double decker bunk bed, you can basically fit an entire family of ninjas in there.

What makes this hotel room particularly ninja-esque is that the décor is on point; it includes sword-inspired bookends, traditional ukiyo-e-style ninja artwork, kunai throwing knives and even communication scrolls hanging on the walls.

Surprise! There's a ninja inside your closet

Fact is, the room is more like an apartment and features a large dining area complete with a full kitchen. You’ll find some surprises around the place like a ninja silhouette hidden inside the closet doors. Don’t worry, there aren’t any ninjas to ambush you in the bathroom – as far as we can tell.

The room goes for roughly ¥70,000 a night, but if you can split it among your eight-member ninja team, it’s a decently priced stay for the amount of space you get. For more information and to book the room, visit the hotel's official website here.
