One of the city's best burger joints now has a space matching its credentials. That's a simple way to sum up Henry's Burger's Akihabara outpost, a comfier, more welcoming version of the original Daikanyama joint. With seating for 30 diners, it brings Henry's less-is-more approach to burgerology to the masses, and has been packed practically ever since opening in November 2017. Other than the surrounds, the recipe has remained the same: the focus is on the natural flavour of the wagyu, which is pounded on the grill before being topped with sliced cheddar that melts into the patty in seconds. There’s a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce, a slather of thousand island dressing, and a custom-made bun that holds the contents in place without overshadowing the beef, the star of the show. And in a nod to Akihabara's legions of hungry otaku (?), the wonderfully simple menu – hamburger (¥860), double hamburger (¥1,180) and fries (¥270) – has expanded to include one more option: a triple hamburger (¥1,480).
