The Azabudai Hills complex will host its first-ever Christmas Market this year with the fleshly opened shops in Minato’s newest hotspot. This event's centrepiece is a giant Christmas tree with roughly 20,000 LED lights. Treats include everything from mulled wine and fresh beignets served by doughnut shop Hocus Pocus, to craft brews and hot dogs from beer shop Setouchi. Even vegans, who often overlooked at these annual food markets, have something to keep their spirits high, with plant-based foods like gluten-free stollen from Eightablish.
Knick-knacks on offer include Christmas ornaments, personalised Santa sacks and festive mugs, but we’ve got our eyes on the conifer saplings displayed at the pop-up by Yutenji-based flower shop Camille. These evergreen trees are from Hokkaido and are perfect for anyone looking for a miniature Christmas tree (from ¥8,800) that will also fill your home with a fresh alpine scent. If you know you won’t need the tree once Christmas ends, you can return it to the shop to have it sent back to Hokkaido so it can be replanted and grow to full size.
