Hakkeijima Sea Paradise celebrates the summer season with a special combination of fireworks and video projection. While fireworks are shot up in tune to music, colouring the sky and sea, lively video art is displayed on the park's iconic triangle roof. Matsuri-themed summer music is also performed with traditional Japanese instruments such as shamisen and taiko drums.
CORRECTION: Edition 4 of our Yokohama guide map, published July 5, 2017, contains a mistake regarding the date of the firework shows at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise.
The text on the map states that 'There will be fireworks shows on Sep 17, 18 and Oct 30.' This should have read 'There will be firework shows on July 29, August 3, 5 and 11 to 19, September 16 and 17, October 7, 8 and 29 as well as December 23 and 24.' Apologies for the mistake.
