It's set to be a very hot summer in Yokohama, and not only thanks to the blazing temperatures predicted by the Meteorological Agency: this is also the season for the sixth Yokohama Triennale, set to take place from August to November. Japan's second-best city will be filled with thousands of artworks and hundreds of thousands of art-hungry visitors throughout the season, so we thought this would be the perfect occasion to update our 50 things to do in Yokohama guide – one of the most popular entries in our guide map series.

CORRECTION:
Edition 4 of our Yokohama guide map, published July 5, 2017, contains a mistake regarding the date of the firework shows at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise.

The text on the map states that 'There will be fireworks shows on Sep 17, 18 and Oct 30.' This should have read 'There will be fireworks shows on July 29, August 3, 5 and 11 to 19, September 16 and 17, October 7, 8 and 29 as well as December 23 and 24.' We apologise for the mistake.

For more information of the firework shows, please see here.

With an all-new cover, the map guides you not only to iconic sights and hot new openings but also to hideaways loved by locals. These include the Noge area, a famous drinking spot, new burger restaurant Café & Dining Blue Terminal, located inside Yokohama's famed Osanbashi Port Terminal, and Imai Dojo, where you can take a trial karate lesson with English guidance.
