It’s official: Osaka is getting the very first Time Out Market in Asia, coming in 2025. In the meantime, here are seven Time Out Markets you can now visit around the world.

What started as a single market in Lisbon back in 2014 has turned into a worldwide success as Time Out Markets have now launched in several cities across the globe. The markets are more than just food halls. They are massive food and cultural spaces editorially curated by Time Out – think of them as a Time Out magazine brought to life. Here you'll find the best of the city under one roof: restaurants, bars as well as art and cultural experiences.

Following the first in Lisbon, Time Out Markets have opened up in six other major cities including Miami, New York, Boston, Montreal, Chicago and Dubai. If that wasn’t enough, a new market is set to open in Porto in 2023 followed by Abu Dhabi in 2024 and, of course, Osaka in 2025.

We’ve compiled this guide of all the current Time Out Markets to give you an idea of what you’ll find at each venue.

The world’s very first Time Out Market is housed inside a restored historical market hall, featuring over 40 spaces filled with outposts of the city’s best restaurants, bars and shops. From Portuguese seafood at Marisqueira Azul to all-day breakfast from Tartine, you’ll have an overwhelming variety to choose from. There’s also the music venue Rive Rouge where you can catch regular live gigs, a Chef's Academy space for cooking workshops as well as a Time Out Studio for events like salsa lessons and carnivals.

Open since 2019, the Time Out Market in Miami is in the heart of South Beach, bringing together 17 kitchens, three bars, a cooking demo zone and video installation wall. The curated food hall is a tempting mix of local favourites including Cubano sandwiches from King Patty's, burgers from Little Liberty and organic wines from Vinya Organic Wine Bar. Don't miss the regular events and happenings at the market, especially the weekend bottomless brunch and Friday happy hour (from 4pm).

The Big Apple welcomed Time Out Market to Dumbo in 2019 and this hangout is packed with multiple eateries, bars, a stunning rooftop and impressive art installations. Dig into some of Gotham's best dishes by the city's top chefs including Takatoshi Nagara and Takayuki Watanabe of Mr Taka Ramen and Bklyn Wild's Ivy Stark. You’ll also find NYC classics, namely bagels from Ess-a-Bagel and ice cream from Sugar Hill Creamery. If that wasn't enough, you can also catch live DJ acts from the rooftop Time Out Stage and cooking workshops in the event space.

Head to Beantown's Fenway neighbourhood to discover the handful of restaurants, bars, demo cooking area and video installation wall that make up Boston’s Time Out Market. The huge space is split in two, with snacks and cold options like doughnuts and smoothies on one side, and hot food like freshly baked pizza on the other. Come try dishes by some of New England's most decorated chefs including culinary power couple Tim and Nancy Cushman of Ms Clucks Deluxe and the highly praised lobster rolls from Cusser's Roast Beef & Seafood. The market is also no stranger to events, with regular live concerts, drag bingo, wine tastings and more.

Time Out Market’s first venture in Canada is a spacious food and cultural hall in Montréal’s downtown Eaton Centre. The Windy City’s Time Out Market can be found in the city's historic Fulton Market District, packed with 18 eateries, three bars, a demo kitchen, rooftop terrace and video installation wall. Encompassing the best of the city’s food scene, you’ll be treated to a generous selection including creole classics from Cleo's Southern Cuisine, barbecue favourites from Soul & Smoke and homemade ice cream from Shawn Michelle's.
