Matsuya Ginza is hosting an exhibition for one of the hottest animations of the year. 'Weathering with You', directed by the same man behind 'Your Name' and 'Garden of Words', was recently submitted for an Oscar nomination. The exhibition will feature raw materials from the earliest stages of the production, including story boards, character sketches and background layouts.
Two cafés inside the department store will be offering special menu items inspired by the film throughout the exhibition period. Themed treats include cloud matcha affogato, dusk lemonade and parfaits inspired by Haruna's favourite strawberry shortcake.
The organisers have also collaborated with the Japan Weather Association to provide a weather simulation showing how meteorological phenomenons occur.
