Session Synopsis: This talk will provide an overview of corporate governance developments in the Arab world, across the countries of the Gulf, Levant and North Africa by Alissa Amico, Managing Director of GOVERN. She is former head of OECD’s work on corporate governance in the Middle East and North Africa. The presentation will provide participants with an update on regulatory developments on corporate governance in the region and the implementation of governance requirements by private, listed and state-owned firms, highlighting how unconventional governance models have developed in the Middle East. The talk will also explore the drivers of good governance in the region, exploring how the current governance models might impact the future of corporations in the region and what this means for foreign investors.
