SAGE FRANCIS, widely considered to be one of our generation's greatest lyricists, is a polarizing, self-loathing, self-aggrandizing reporter of the human condition. Francis earned acclaim in the early 2000’s by winning the most highly coveted titles of the emcee battle circuit, while simultaneously making an indelible mark on a burgeoning spoken word scene. His hip-hop career derives mainly from gifted wordplay which creates vivid narratives to instigate as well as inspire. His cult-like following derives from his ability to tell people their own stories without them having to suffer their own embarrassment. His main passion is telling offensive jokes to his cats, but that doesn't pay the bills, so, ya' know...capitalism. In 2016, coming off the heels of his most extensive tour to date (163 shows worldwide,) Sage Francis will be providing a unique 25 minute SPOKEN WORD set during Toronto's Poetry Slam Finals at Bloor Cinema on February 27th.
