It’s official: 10 of Europe’s best cities are in the UK

British cities dominate a new ranking by Resonance Consultancy

We at Time Out UK know all too well that this country is home to some of the very best cities in Europe – nay, in the entire world. Just the other month we ourselves ranked four UK cities the best places in the world to visit right now.

Surprise, surprise, we’re not the only ones to shout the UK’s praises. Today, a new study has crowned ten UK cities among the best in Europe. Yep, ten!

The ranking comes from Resonance Consultancy and it’s based on a huge number of factors. Resonance’s study features a total of 27 metrics, ranging from rental prices and cultural attractions to poverty rates and visitor numbers. Out of all these sorts of city rankings (of which there are more than a few), Resonance’s is among the most thorough.

So which UK cities made the cut? Well, coming top of the entire study for the second year in a row was London. The capital was named Europe’s best city for a bunch of reasons, from the quality of its educational institutions to its cultural prowess. Also placing in the top 30 was Oxford, which came 25th and was predictably praised for its levels of education, as well as Manchester (27th) and Edinburgh (29th). Here are the rest of the UK cities that came in the top 50 of Resonance’s ranking.
