Set within 18 acres of countryside outside of the historic city of Wells, this barn conversion is more hotel than rental. You’ll have access to a spa complete with an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, gym and an outdoor tennis court. This is shared with other residents of the Wellesley Park estate; all you need to do is book a private session online for your group. Did we mention it’s just four miles from the gates of Glastonbury Festival? We can’t think of a better place to ride out the post-festi blues.

7. The romantic cabin in Hertfordshire

Ever had those Lady Chatterley-type gamekeeper fantasies? No, us neither – and we’ve absolutely no idea why we reached for that reference point. Ahem... anyway… *straightens skirt and coughs loudly* we’re just saying that this place has a kind of upmarket gamekeeper lodge vibe to it. Low wooden ceilings, a roaring fireplace, a slightly rumpled-looking bed… and a taxidermy fox in one corner. It’s set within a much bigger estate with a pretty little river running through it.
