Stevie Nicks just announced her 2016 U.S. solo tour

"I just woke up one morning and said, I have two years off before Fleetwood Mac comes knocking on my door," Stevie Nicks tells The New York Times. "Why would I want to sit around and do nothing?"

The result of her musings? A solo tour across North America, which will kick off on October 25, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Following a relatively recent tour with Fleetwood Mac (14 months, 122 dates) and the release of her 2014 album, "24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault," which included tunes mostly written between 1969 and 1987, Nicks clearly doesn't tire.

When discussing the difference between touring with a band and traveling solo, Nicks tells The New York Times: "I love being part of a team. We argue all the time, but we always have. In my band, there is no arguing. I am the boss. My solo career is probably the reason Fleetwood Mac is still together in 2016, because I was always happy to leave Fleetwood Mac, and I was always happy to come back, too."

The 28-city tour will also feature special guest stars The Pretenders as the opening act. Find all the tour dates below:
