What's Vice President Joe Biden going to be doing now that the Democratic National Convention is done? Explore his inner Christopher Meloni, of course.

The VP will guest star as himself on an episode of NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit that will focus “on the rape kit backlog and efforts to end violence against women," said the White House in a statement. The episode will air as part of the show's next season, which premieres in September.

Expect him to rub elbows with some series regulars, including Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino, Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T when filming the scene this Friday in New York.

This isn't Biden's first foray into women's issues nor is it his first collaboration with Hargitay. From his landmark Violence Against Women Act in 1994 to the Joyful Heart Foundation's Finnegan award—that Hargitay presented him—to the P.S.A. that the two collaborated on a few years ago, the VP has been a passionate advocate of efforts around violence against women for decades.

This also isn't Biden's first appearance on a TV show. Back in 2012 and 2015, the VP guest starred on NBC's Parks and Recreation as himself—Amy Poehler's character, Leslie Knope, was, of course, attracted to his good looks and his devotion to public service.
