Get ready for an iconic clash of history and camp: RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Alaska Thunder***k is taking her talents on the road, stepping into the iconic petticoats of Mary Todd Lincoln for the 2026–27 national tour of Cole Escola’s smash-hit comedy, 'Oh, Mary!', as reported by PEOPLE.
Described by Time Out New York as “dizzyingly, breathtakingly funny,” the Tony and Olivier Award-winning play reimagines the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Rather than a dry history lesson, the show centers on an outrageously dissatisfied, famously unhinged Mary Todd Lincoln whose long-buried cabaret dreams finally take center stage.
For Alaska, stepping into the unravelling former First Lady's shoes is a career pinnacle. “I’ve often been asked what my dream role would be. I never had a dream role. Until I saw 'Oh, Mary!',” Alaska shared in a statement. “So, it is an actual dream come true that I… get to play Mary F—ing Todd in the greatest play of the generation.”
Since her star-making turn on Drag Race Season 5 and her All Stars Season 2 crown, Alaska has built a pop-culture empire, releasing hit albums, co-founding the Moguls of Media (MOM) podcast network with fellow alum Willam and co-writing the acclaimed Off-Broadway hit Drag: The Musical. Taking on Escola’s brilliantly chaotic script is the natural next step for the drag powerhouse.

Alaska will kick off the tour on September 19 at The Bushnell in Hartford, Connecticut, steering the production through stops like Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre until January 17, 2027. Starring opposite her as “Mary’s Husband” (the satirical Abraham Lincoln) will be Tony winner J. Harrison Ghee.
In a historic twist, Ghee will swap the stovepipe hat for Mary’s signature curls starting January 19 in Chicago, making history as the first actor to play both Mary Todd Lincoln and her husband in the production.
Visiting major cities including San Francisco, Boston, Seattle and Washington, D.C., the tour promises pure theatrical anarchy, and with Alaska at the helm, the production is sure to be delightfully bonkers.
