Hot dogs and baseball are a natural combo, and this new ranking highlights the best in the league

With the Fourth of July right around the corner and the MLB season in full swing, Casino.org has stepped up to the plate to celebrate America’s ultimate ballpark snack. Their data-driven MLB Wiener League rankings scored every team’s signature hot dog across five categories: length, price-per-inch, toppings, napkin necessity and raw creativity to determine the best (and worst) in the league. The results reveal that, like the players, some stadiums hit absolute home runs, while others completely strike out.
When it comes to hot dogs, the Windy City is officially Hot Dog City. Chicago claimed the top two spots in the entire league. At number one is the Chicago Cubs’ Footlong Hot Dog (receiving a score of 70.6/100). This 12-inch masterpiece at Wrigley Field costs an affordable $0.75 per inch and boasts seven classic toppings. Best of all, finely chopped ingredients mean a surprisingly low napkin necessity.
Coming in at number two is the Chicago White Sox’s Comiskey Dog (67.7/100). Piled high with neon green relish, sport peppers and celery salt, this 12-inch icon won’t leave you in a sauce-covered mess while trying to catch a home run ball.
The San Diego Padres’ Tijuana-style Hot Dog, the Philadelphia Phillies’ Hartfield Beef Frank and the Toronto Blue Jays’ Hot Maple Bacon Hot Dog wrap up the top five best hot dogs in the MLB.
For pure budget-friendly bliss, look to the West Coast. The legendary Dodger Dog in Los Angeles offers the best value in baseball, costing fans a meager $0.50 per inch. It’s a classic choice that keeps both your belly and your wallet completely happy.
The San Diego Padres’ Tijuana-Style Hot Dog, in addition to ranking number three overall, earned a perfect 5/5 score for both creativity and messiness. Wrapped in bacon and stacked with pico de gallo, cilantro aioli and crunchy potato sticks, it is a glorious experience that also requires a lot of focus and many napkins.
At the bottom of the list, with the unfortunate title of the worst hot dog in the MLB, is the Milwaukee Brewers’ Johnsonville Bratwurst, with a low score of 22.8/100. At just six inches long and lacking heavy toppings, it costs a brutal $2.67 per inch—making it the worst value in baseball.
Hot dogs might not win World Series rings, but they certainly win the hearts and stomachs of fans. See where your favorite frank ranks here.
