Can’t get enough of Barbie? A real Barbie World is coming to Arizona next year. Mattel Adventure Park is set to open some time in 2024, bringing a slew of Mattel favorites like Hot Wheels, He-Man, Thomas the Train and more to life.
Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, Arizona will welcome Barbie fans to take “Barbiecore” to a whole new level. Step into Barbie’s Dream Closet where a state-of-the-art hologram Barbie will help you curate the ultimate wardrobe. Barbie’s Flying Theater will take you on a journey to all the places Barbie has been throughout her career, from outer space to under water. You can then toast the icon with a signature pink cocktail—and gaze out at the entire park—at the rooftop bar at Barbie’s Beach House.
In addition to the Barbie Zone, the new park will feature attractions and interactive experiences dedicated to other Mattel favorites. A double-looping Hot Wheels roller coaster and go-kart track will bring the thrills, while the younger set can join Thomas the Train and Friends on a treasure hunt journey. Giant play structures and a nine-hole mini golf course will bring Pictionary and UNO to life, while a 4,500 square foot laser tag arena will recreate Masters of the Universe’s Castle Grayskull.
The nine-acre Adventure Park is part of the larger planned VAI Resort, a 60-acre destination not far from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It will be the largest resort in Arizona, featuring more than 1,100 hotel rooms and suites, 12 upscale restaurants, a state-of-the-art concert venue, a six-acre swimming pool and the largest man-made island in the country.
An opening date has not been announced, but the park will open at some point in 2024. You can keep an eye on progress with the park’s live construction cam.
