A new glamping destination in development in southern Utah is like nothing you’ve seen before IRL. Take some futuristic, post-apocalyptic elements of Mad Max and Burning Man then throw in luxury accommodations and ancient healing rituals and you’ve got OutpostX.

The 240-acre property—located about 90 minutes from Zion National Park—sits on a dry lake bed, where the cracked clay landscape is a film-worthy stand-in for a barren desert planet. The property is dotted with ten units in four unique architectural styles. Choose a treehouse-like Sky Lodge, a Zen Dome that lets you sleep under the stars or two types of caves with beds on rollers to allow for outdoor sleeping. Each unit sleeps two to four guests and includes luxury amenities, a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave and hot plate. Pets are welcome.

Now 80 percent complete, OutpostX will also feature a sauna, rock cave spa, therapeutic clay bath, common bonfire area and an earth lodge with a fridge and ingredients to cook chef-designed recipes over a fire. The biggest thrill promises to be the fleet of sand cruisers that guests can use to zip around the property like a real-life Star Wars landspeeder.

To book a stay, become a supporter of the project through the developers’ Indiegogo campaign. Supporters will get first dibs and a discount when OutpostX starts welcoming guests in August. Prices range from $350 to $1100 per night. Stays can be booked 16 months in advance.
