Fans of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast take note: a reimagined production of the beloved musical is set to tour the U.S. starting in June of 2025. The tour is in celebration of the beloved musical’s 30th anniversary.

“We’ve heard from audiences for three decades now that Beauty and the Beast has touched them in a profound way—these characters, songs and this sweeping story,” Thomas Schumacher, Chief Creative Officer of Disney Theatrical Group said in a statement. “How proud we are, then, to bring this refreshed and human take on the show—with the scale and spectacle the title deserves—to longtime fans and an entirely new generation. This Beauty is for them."

Beauty and the Beast is one of the most beloved stage musicals, and remains one of the top 10 longest-running Broadway shows.

Technical rehearsals will begin in Schenectady, NY in June 2025, with the official opening set for Chicago, IL at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in July. The tour will continue on to Minneapolis, MN at the Orpheum Theatre in August. The rest of the tour, as well as casting, will be announced at a later date.

This new production includes members of the original Tony Award-winning artistic team, including composer Alan Menken, lyricist Tim Rice, book writer Linda Woolverton and choreographer Matt West.
