The gang is back at it—sort of.

Just last week, Fran Drescher, she of Nanny Fine fame, announced a surprise in the works that would surely excite fans of '90s sitcom The Nanny.

Today, we learn from Variety that the original cast of the sitcom (minus James Marsden) is set to reunite via Zoom. Fran Fine, Maxwell Sheffield, Brighton and Grace Sheffield and others will return as part of a virtual table read of the series' first episode ever. The read will be posted on YouTube this upcoming Monday morning, April 6. The original episode aired back on November 3, 1993.

“Laughter is the best medicine! So, in these challenging times, Petah and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we pulled together the original cast of The Nanny for a virtual read of the pilot?” said Drescher in a statement to Variety, referring to Peter Marc Jacobson, the show’s co-creator. “It’s a once in a lifetime Pandemic Performance for our fans around the world who are currently stressing in isolation and could use a real upper! It sure has given each of us a lift and we hope it does for you as well.”

In case the news inspires you to watch the sitcom from the very beginning in its entirety (that would be 146 episodes across six different seasons), you can do so on the Roku channel right now.
