If spring break has you dreaming about blooms and blossoms rather than bikinis, you may want to book your next trip to Seattle. The Washington destination was just named America's most scenic city for spring, ahead of other contenders including Chicago and Boston, notably scenic in their own rite.

So what's so great about Seattle this season? According to TravelBag, posts hashtagged #springinseattle racked up more images than spring in any other North American city, and the scenic content tracks.

Seattle's annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April celebrates the season with stretches of tulip fields blooming with seemingly endless shades and varieties of tulip. And plenty more easily accessible outdoor spots, including the Seattle Japanese Garden, Washington Park Arboretum and Bellevue Botanical garden offer ample space to enjoy the best of spring's flowers. The annual Cherry Blossom Half Marathon also takes place in late March, to celebrate the famous fragrant, pink blossoms on the University of Washington's campus.

Seattle was also recently named the safest city for solo travelers in the United States, so no need to find a travel companion to experience Seattle in springtime. Can't get time off? Seattle also tops a list of best cities for digital nomads, so you can work remotely under the cherry blossoms.

If travel to Seattle isn't in the cards, the runner-up cities are also still worth visiting. Chicago places second, followed by Boston, Denver and Miami.

Book a spring break trip, you deserve it.
