It’s not the holidays without The Holiday, the fan-favorite Christmas movie starring Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black.

Written and directed by genre legend Nancy Meyers, the jolly romantic comedy grossed over $200 million worldwide when it was released back in December 2006 and has continued to be go-to watch every holiday seaso. So it's not a surprise that the star-studded flick is returning to the big screen for a limited time this December, all in celebration of the movie's big 20th anniversary.

The Holiday centers on two women: London singleton Iris Simpkins (Winslet), who is woefully in love with a man who's about to marry another woman, and Amanda Woods (Diaz), an L.A. career woman who realizes the man she loves and lives with has cheated on her. Those leading ladies meet online on a home-exchange travel platform and impulsively decide to switch houses for the holiday—Iris moves into Amanda's palatial California digs while Amanda heads across the pond to the snow-covered English countryside. This being a rom-com, of course both women unexpectedly find respective romance on their trip: Amanda with Iris's handsome brother Graham (Law) and Iris with Amanda's film-composer colleague Miles (Black).

The Holiday will return to participating movie theaters on Friday, December 11. If you can't make it out to the cinemas, though, no sweat: You can always watch the beloved holiday movie on Hulu and Disney+, or rent or buy it on streaming platforms like Prime Video, Google Play, Apple TV and Fandango at Home.

Speaking of, in case you missed it, Apple TV is developing a limited series adaptation of the movie, reports Variety. The TV spinoff will feature different characters but the same premise, with two women—one British and one American—who swap houses during the Christmas season and find love along the way.
