Just west of the Strip, a new boutique hotel billed as the first cannabis-friendly resort in Vegas is now open. The Lexi Hotel, formerly the adults-only Artisan known for topless sunbathing and after-hours parties, has been renovated with cannabis consumption in mind while maintaining the edgy yet elegant, 21+ experience that Vegas visitors expect.

The contemporary redesign of this non-gaming hotel retains some elements of its previous incarnation, like the indoor fountain and the old-school chandeliers. Just one floor of the hotel—about 22 of the 64 rooms—is designated cannabis-friendly, but all rooms are designed to eliminate the possibility of trapped odors. The “420 Rooms” feature commercial-grade RestorAir filtration systems, with smaller versions in the other rooms. Wall hangings have been replaced with murals, rugs replaced with laminate flooring, open shelving swapped in for closets and wood shutters for curtains. A retro fridge in each room holds plenty of snacks.

Aside from the new room design, the rest of the Lexi Hotel offers a stylish, Vegas-worthy experience. The pool deck remains top-optional and features cabanas, daybeds and DJs. There’s a sleek, private dining room with a fireplace and a craft whiskey and tequila bar is coming soon. The hotel plans to host pool parties, DJ nights and after-hours events.

The hotel is currently accepting reservations, but take note: though recreational use is legal in Las Vegas, public consumption is limited to private residences. Lighting up at The Lexi will not be allowed until public consumption laws are approved, expected to happen later in the year. Once the laws are approved, The Lexi will be ready and should match the success of sister hotel The Clarendon in Phoenix, also run by Elevations Hotels and Resorts.
