The countdown is on: we’re just a week away from the first batch of FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets going on sale. Hosted across the U.S., Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026, this is set to be the biggest World Cup ever, with 48 teams, 104 matches and an expected avalanche of demand for seats. Here’s what you need to know about when tickets drop, how much they’ll cost and how to snag your place in the stands.
When can you start buying tickets for the World Cup?
The first chance to get tickets comes through the Visa Presale Draw, which opens Wednesday, September 10 at 11am ET and closes on Friday, September 19 at 11am ET.
To enter, you’ll need a valid Visa card (credit, debit, or prepaid with 3D Secure). If you’re selected in the draw, you’ll be given a date and time to purchase tickets starting October 1, 2025. FIFA estimates about one million tickets will be available in this first phase.
Don’t panic if you miss out. There will be two more phases of ticket sales. Registered fans will be selected to purchase tickets during a set window.
Early Ticket Draw: Likely October 27–31; registered fans will be given time slots to purchase tickets from mid-November to early December.
Random Selection Draw: Kicking off after the final draw of teams on December 5, 2025.
Additional first-come, first-served sales will roll out closer to the tournament.
How do you register for FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets?
First step: head to FIFA.com/tickets and create a FIFA ID. This is your key to the sales phases. By registering, you’ll be notified about sale dates and how the process works.
During the Visa Presale Draw window, log in with your FIFA ID and Visa card details to submit your application. If you’re successful, FIFA will give you a time slot to buy tickets starting October 1. In the subsequent phases, a random draw will select fans eligible to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.
What are the ticket prices for the World Cup?
Tickets will start at $60 for group-stage matches during the Visa presale, climbing to as much as $6,730 for the final at MetLife Stadium on July 19, 2026. For comparison, in 1994, US World Cup tickets ranged from $25 to $475. In Qatar 2022, they went from $69 to $1,607. If you’ve got deeper pockets, hospitality packages are already on sale, ranging from $3,500 to $73,200 per person, offering VIP lounges, private suites and platinum experiences.
Ticket types include:
Single Match Tickets (any one of the 104 matches).
Team-Specific Tickets (all three group-stage matches for one chosen team).
Venue-Specific Tickets (all matches at a selected stadium, except the openers and knockout rounds).
