Looking for a vacation in paradise? You can now access the pristine beaches of the British Virgin Islands with a single flight from Miami. American Airlines has announced the first-ever nonstop flights to the destination, making it easier to start your time in the Territory sooner.

American’s new service, which launched June 1, flies direct from Miami to the region’s main airport on Beef Island. The three-hour flight means U.S. travelers now have direct access to BVI without having to connect through Puerto Rico or St. Thomas. The flights, which depart Miami at 10:07am and arrive in BVI at 1:06pm, will run through August 14 and restart in November after the fall low season. Return flights leave BVI at 1:47pm and arrive back in Miami at 4:25pm.

The flights have already proven to be a hit. According to BVI’s Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Natalio Wheatley, “this is the first time in history that a flight has completely sold out in such a short amount of time.” The Sailing Capital of the World is renowned for yachting, villa rentals and private island resorts and is home to cultural events like Summer Sizzle, a week-long event celebrating fashion, art, and music.

If you’re looking to explore this region of sapphire waters and white sand beaches, these new non-stop flights will get you there faster.
