You caught Saltburn on Prime and now you want to have your own little holiday in grand circumstances. While Saltburn felt very British, you can still find places in the U.S. that give the same vibe—shall we call it Pepperburn? According to data compiled by Sixt, there was a 10,951 percent increase in Google search demand for the term "Saltburn Vacations" in the last year, so you’re not alone in your quest to find aristocracy, eccentricity and hot rich people.
Let’s look at those palatial estates here in the U.S. The first is the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, once home to the Vanderbilt family. Lavish to the hilt, the 250-room mansion is set on beautifully landscaped acreage. Best of all, three hotels are on the estate grounds for the night. If you’re an art lover, you’ll want to try the Chihuly at Biltmore overnight package.
Next up is the Swan House Estate in Atlanta, GA. This 1928 home was built by inherited cotton money—we all know what that means. But on the plus side, Civil Rights pioneer Elizabeth “Lizzie” McDuffie worked here before she became a third-floor maid for President Franklin D. Roosevelt White House. At the White House, she advocated for racial equality and was instrumental in creating a union for government employees.

The Breakers Estates in Newport, RI, is another Vanderbilt family mansion and part of Gilded Age opulence. It was built in the 1890s and is a fascinating historical site.
The Nemours Estate in Wilmington, DE, is a 77-room mansion with 200 acres of French-style formal gardens, topiary, and woodlands. Closed for the season, it reopens April 2.
