You wanna stream? You gotta pay up.

Beginning August 18, new and returning Peacock streaming app customers (and current customers starting September 17) now are required to pay a few dollars more every month.

RECOMMENDED: You can now stream 10,000+ free movies and shows on Google TV Freeplay

Peacock announced its new fees, which are as follows:

  • Premium (includes ads) will be $12.99 per month, up from $10.99
  • Peacock Premium Plus will be $19.99 per month, a $3 increase from $16.99
  • Peacock Select (includes current and past seasons of NBC and Bravo and excludes movies, live sports and Peacock originals) will increase $1 to $8.99 per month

Despite turning a first-ever quarterly profit in Q2 2026 and having a whopping 48 million subscribers, this is the fourth time in as many years that the app has raised prices, according to Variety. But that’s not out of the ordinary. Basically everyone else—Netflix, Apple TV, YouTube Premium, HBO Max and Paramount+ has boosted their fees.

But Peacock is making big moves that will mean changes to your viewing experience. Announced in July, if you have YouTube Premium, you also get Peacock Premium, unlocking live sports, hit series such as  Love Island USA, The Real Housewives franchise, Law & Order: SVU, Saturday Night Live, The Traitors, All Her Fault and The Office; and award-winning and blockbuster films—starting in 2027.

And on Monday, it said it’s launching a new membership program in beta that’s available initially to a randomly selected group of Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers based on their “tenure” as a Peacock subscriber: Gold (three months to one year), Platinum (one to three years) and Diamond (three or more years), with select rewards tailored to each tier.

Specifically, members of this new beta membership will receive:

  • NBCUniversal rewards: Exclusive offers connected to Peacock programming and NBCUniversal brands.
  • Partner rewards: Benefits from select partners that enhance the subscriber experience.
  • Engagement rewards: Recognition tied to activity on Peacock.
  • Experiential rewards: Unique opportunities that bring fans closer to NBCUniversal experiences.

And at launch, members in the beta program will get:

  • An NBCU Shop 25-percent discount (for Shop at NBC Studios products)
  • A Bravo Shop discount (dependent on membership tier), with Gold members eligible for 15-percent off, Platinum members receiving 20-percent off and Diamond members receiving 25-percent off
  • A complimentary Instacart+ membership for one year ($0 grocery delivery fees; a subscription to New York Times Cooking at no additional cost; and free family sharing)
  • A Pizza Hut digital code that allows them to buy one menu-priced medium pizza and get a second medium pizza of equal or lesser value free (a limited time offer; the offer is unlocked after streaming three movies)

As with many things these days, the number of paid-for membership tiers is increasing alongside their fees. We don't know about you, but it's making us miss the simplicity of cable!
