Traveling for a concert makes musical memories even more magical. If you can choose a destination for your next live show, where you go is about more that just snagging a ticket—the city can set the tone for your entire trip. For a little insight and inspiration, fashion retailer Princess Polly conducted a study analyzing 47 major U.S. cities across based on affordability, convenience and overall concert-going experience to determine the best cities for concerts. Here are the cities to keep in mind when checking out your favorite artists' tour schedules.

Taking the crown as the best city for concerts is Las Vegas. Snagging the number one spot overall, Vegas is a music lover’s paradise with a staggering 3,454 concerts scheduled for 2026. Boasting the highest per-capita rate of 151 concerts per 100k residents and only 26 rainy days a year, Sin City guarantees you won't get rained out.

If you prefer iconic music scenes and top-tier crowds, Nashville, in second place, is the city for you. Living up to its "Music City" hype, Nashville leads the top ten with 6.76 venues per 100k people and holds an impressive 4.59 average venue rating. Meanwhile, festival lovers should head straight to Austin, which ranks fourth overall and hosts a top-ten-best 11 music festivals in 2026.

For budget-conscious concertgoers looking to save, San Diego, CA (number three overall) is the most affordable city in the top ten, boasting a low $56 average ticket price and $15 Uber rides. However, if pure affordability is your main priority, Oklahoma City ranks as the number one budget city nationwide, thanks to rock-bottom costs across hotels, transport and parking.

On the flip side, if you want a seamless night out without the hassle of driving, San Francisco (number seven overall) shines. It leads the top ten in convenience with an outstanding Walk Score of 89 and a Transit Score of 77, alongside more than 2,200 listed concerts.

Whether you prioritize high-volume festival lineups in Texas, walkable West Coast venues or budget-friendly Midwest gigs, 2026 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year for live music.
