The new sequel series is coming to Peacock this fall.

Seth Macfarlane is back as the hearty-party, Boston-accented bear Ted in a new animated series, and we just got a first look.
TED: The Animated Series—a sequel to the beloved stoner films Ted and Ted 2—will bring back MacFarlane as well as Mark Wahlberg (as Ted's best friend, John), Amanda Seyfried (John's wife, Sam) and Jessica Barth (Ted's wife, Tami-Lynn) 12 years after the events of the last movie.

In the new series, John and Ted are neighbors with their own families and dead-end jobs—and they enable each other's bad ideas about marriage, parenting and the challenges of adult life, usually while high.
New faces are also joining the Ted universe, including Kyle Mooney as Apollo and Liz Richman as Ruth.
The first film was set in 1985, when John wishes that his Christmas gift, a jumbo teddy bear named Ted, could come to life and be his new best friend. When his dream comes true and Ted gains sentience, they form a brother-like friendship and call themselves “Thunder Buddies.” In Ted 2, Ted and his wife,Tami-Lynn attempt to adopt a child and John struggles with divorced life.
The first Ted film in 2012 was a box office success, but its 2015 sequel, Ted 2, didn’t do as well. Is there a Ted 3 on the way? Alas, no. But we do have a full TV series about the next era of Ted and John on the way. (And just to be clear—this new TV series is different from the Peacock comedy series Ted, a live-action prequel that ran from 2024 to 2026 with two seasons. TED: The Animated Series is obviously animated and takes place when Ted and John are grown up and have their own families, which is a cool new way to experience the characters.)
TED: The Animated Series premieres on Peacock with eight episodes on Thursday, December 17. Additional episodes will stream in 2027.
