Don't mind if we do.

No McDonald's meal is complete without an order of fries—and on Friday, December 18, they're on the house. That's right: McDonald's is handing out free medium fries as part of its massive holiday giveaway, which features a new complimentary menu item every day through Christmas Eve.

What's the catch? Well, there are two things you should know before you run out the door. All orders must be placed through the McDonald's app, and you need to make a purchase of $1 or more. A medium soda or a dessert is the least expensive way to cash in, but an order of nuggets (around $2 for six) or a cheeseburger (usually under $2) will also do the trick.

Leaning into the holiday spirit, McDonald's has tied each freebie to a fictional holiday character, like Frosty the Snowman and Frank Costanza. The fries are inspired by Rudolph—we have to assume it has something to do with the reindeer's red nose being the same hue as McDonald's signature fry carton.

If you can't make it to McDonald's for free fries on Friday, December 18, there's still plenty of free food to enjoy over the next six days, including nuggets on Saturday and chocolate chip cookies next Thursday. Take a look at the full lineup below and plan your snacking accordingly.

  • Saturday, December 19: Free 6-piece McNuggets (Gizmo)
  • Sunday, December 20: Free hotcakes (Buddy the Elf)
  • Monday, December 21: Free hot or iced coffee (Scrooge)
  • Tuesday, December 22: Free McFlurry (Frosty the Snowman)
  • Wednesday, December 23: Free bakery item (Frank Costanza and the rest of us)
  • Thursday, December 24: Free 2- or 3-pack chocolate chip cookies (Santa Claus)
