In an effort to aid Americans that have unfortunately lost their jobs in connection to the current situation, meditation app Headspace has just announced that it will offer its premium service for free for a full year to all those unemployed within the United States. The offer can be redeemed through June 30.
To sign up, click right here and follow the prompts. After filling out your information (name, previous occupation, last date of employment), the system will prompt you to verify that what you're claiming—essentially, unemployment—is true. That's right: the deal relies entirely on the honor system.
"The current state of unemployment in the US has become an alarming crisis," reads the website. "Discover meditation and mindfulness tools to help you feel less stressed, more resilient, and kinder to yourself."
A subscription will grant you access to a variety of at-home workouts, essential meditation techniques dealing with a range of topics (from stress to relationships and everything in-between) and "a collection of relaxing sleepcasts, music, sounds and more to help create the conditions for a better night's rest." Basically, prepare to finally feel the sort of relaxation you've been craving (and deserving) for months.
This isn't Headspace's first foray into helping people out in response to COVID-19. The company created a New York-specific landing page for folks to try out a slew of calming exercises and it has also made its premium service accessible free of charge to health care providers in the United States and Los Angeles residents.
