SXSW was canceled and Coachella is postponed until October, but one music festival is still happening this spring—Get Live! Memphis, a new three-day, virtual music festival going down this weekend in Memphis, Tennessee.
In an effort to support Memphis’ legendary local music community, Memphis Music Hub, a division of Memphis Tourism, collaborated with local businesses I Love Memphis and Music Export Memphis to coordinate the Facebook Live-based festival.
"As a music city, it's time to throw our arms (figuratively) around the Memphis musicians that add so much to this river town's culture" reads the event description.
The fest kicks off with one performance on Thursday night and continues through Saturday evening with shows scheduled every night between 8–10pm CDT. The festival will be held via a Facebook event, so it's easy to view the live-streamed performances by nine of Memphis' finest musicians, including bassist MonoNeon, Lucero frontman Ben Nichols and Grammy-nominated band Southern Avenue.
