The current NBA season is suspended indefinitely, but basketball fans will soon be able to relive one of the league's most exciting seasons from the perspective of one of its biggest stars. Originally scheduled for release in June, ESPN has moved up the debut of its Michael Jordan documentary series The Last Dance to April 19, answering the cries of hoops-starved fans.

The 10-part series focuses on the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls season, when the team was coming off of back-to-back NBA Championships. Making use of never-before-seen footage captured by a camera crew that followed the team throughout the entire season, viewers will get a glimpse behind the scenes of the pinnacle of the Bulls' dynasty.

While The Last Dance is centered around Bulls figurehead Michael Jordan (who granted a rare interview to the filmmakers), the doc will include many other perspectives on the legacy of His Airness. ESPN sat down with more than 100 people who were involved with the team and famous figures who experienced the season, including Bulls coach Phil Jackson, teammate Dennis Rodman, former President Barack Obama and the late Kobe Bryant.

Even if you've watched the Bulls incredible 1998 playoffs run and the climatic NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz that netted Jordan and the team their sixth championship in eight years, The Last Dance promises to pull back the curtain on the off-the-court drama. Plus, you'll get to see Jordan indulging in all the luxuries of the late ’90s, including chunky cell phones, portable CD players and sleek sports cars.

The first two parts of The Last Dance debut on ESPN (and the ESPN+ streaming service) on Sunday, April 19, with two parts airing each Sunday through May 17.
