Another steamy ice-rink romance is on the way to Netflix—and we’ve got more information about the show that’ll become your next obsession.
Icebreaker, based on the viral hockey romance novel by Hannah Grace and the first in her three-book “Maple Hill” series, spent 70 consecutive weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, surpassing nearly 5 million copies sold worldwide.
Clearly, it’s a winner, so we’re excited to announce that its Netflix series adaptation just named its Anastasia “Stassie” Allen and Nate Hawkins. Here's everything we know so far.

Who is in the cast of Icebreaker on Netflix?
It's official: Daisy Jelley (Poser, How to Have Sex, Geek Girl) is Stassie and Connor Simos (Subversion) is Nate in Netflix's hotly anticipated Icebreaker series!

It looks like they've already got chemistry—important if they want to bring the book's spice level to the screen.
Other cast members include: Gabriel Tierney (Rivals, Enola Holmes 2) as Aaron, Auliʻi Cravalho (Moana) as Lola, Peter Berry as Robbie in his onscreen debut, Chaneil Kular (Best of the Best, Sex Education, The Accused) as JJ, Devin Craig (Sex Lives of College Girls, Maize) as Henry, and Aidan Shaw (We Were Liars, Heated Rivalry) as Russ.
What is Icebreaker on Netflix about?
Competitive figure skater Stassie just transferred to University of California, Maple Hills and has to share the rink with Nate, a hockey player gunning for the NHL. Their lives “collide” and discipline gives way to obsession—with each other.
The show’s creator and executive producer Jade Bartlett (Road House, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Miller’s Girl) says Icebreaker has been a fun story to bring to life.
“It’s been such a joy to play in Hannah Grace’s world of Icebreaker, a story filled with ambitious, talented, and undeniably sexy characters. But the real special sauce is that, above all, they are good, deeply compassionate people … and we cannot get enough of them,” Bartlett says. “Hannah has created the kind of world you want to live in, and Amanda and I are having an absolute romp with our incredible teams at Unwell and Netflix, bringing this cherished story to the screen.”
The series is executive produced by Unwell Productions, from Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre. Bartlett and showrunner Amanda Lasher are writers and executive producers.
