Uncut Gems was a very different sort of Adam Sandler film. Arguably one of the comedian's very best roles, the dark indie was a critical darling, although not properly recognized throughout the awards circuit.

If you haven't yet seen the film, you're in luck: Netflix just announced that it will drop on the platform on May 25. Until then, you might want to browse through the network's new April offerings right here

The 2019 movie was directed by brothers Josh and Benny Safdie and produced by the very recognizable Scott Rudin and Martin Scorsese. The script, written by the directors alongside Ronald Bronstein, follows gambling addict Howard Ratner (Sandler), a Jewish jeweler who runs a shop in New York City's famous Diamond District. We don't want to spoil anything, but do expect a rare black opal from Africa to make an appearance and set off a cycle of dramatic and thrilling events.

If you end up loving the film as much as we do (we did, indeed, give it 5 stars in our review!), here is a list of Sandler's other awesome movies. Enjoy!
