You're going to have to act fast on this one: Southwest Airlines is celebrating its 50th anniversary by offering one-way flights for as low as $50 right now through February 8.
The catch: you must purchase the tickets at least 21 days in advance of your travel plans. As a general statement, all tickets are valid for trips taken between February 9 and May 20—although certain blackout dates should be taken into consideration.
And now, for the fun stuff: you might want to consider a $50 flight from Atlanta, Georgia straight to Nashville, Tennessee or, perhaps, a $76 one from Burbank in California to Reno/Tahoe in Nevada. Slightly steeper trips include a New Orleans, Louisiana-Denver, Colorado one-way flight for $132; a Los Angeles, California-Boston Logan, Massachusetts one for $157; and a $157 flight from New York's LaGuardia airport to Los Cabos, Mexico.
If you're willing to spend a bit more to indulge in a true tropical vacation, how about a flight to Aruba? It'll cost you around $243 depending on where you are traveling from, but the Caribbean island is actually offering folks the chance to work remotely while gazing out at the ocean for 90 days without having to even apply for a visa. Sounds like a win-win to us.
You can browse through all available deals right here. Fair warning: all tickets are non-refundable. However, according to the airline's own policy, you would technically be able to reschedule your flight and use the cost of the ticket toward future travel as long as your reservation is cancelled at least ten minutes prior to departure time.
