Although cruises are currently banned from United States ports, Viking World Cruises is banking on the world returning to some sort of normalcy in 2021. The cruise line just announced plans to launch one of the longest at-sea itineraries in the world between 2021 and 2022.

For a mere (yes, that's sarcasm) $50,000, hop on board a 136-day cruise that will visit 56 ports across 27 countries in six different continents.

The ship is scheduled to leave the Fort Lauderdale port on December 24, 2021 (you can also opt to get on board in Los Angeles on January 10, 2022) and visit the likes of Rome, Mumbai, Istanbul, Cartagena, Luxor and more before arriving in London, where you'll debark. Specifically speaking, the route will take you across Central America, through the Panama Canal, down the west coast of North America and then to Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and, finally, on a journey across the Mediterranean.

The cruise ship has room for 930 passengers and the price of the trip starts at $49,995 per person, based on double occupancy. If you book the trip before September 30 of this year, you'll get a $2,000 inshore excursion credit and a $1,000 budget to be used on on-board beverages, spa services and more.

We've all experienced a pretty tough first half of 2020 and who knows what the year has in store next. Sure, the price tag on this one-of-a-kind cruise is oh-so-very-steep but... don't we deserve a bit of splurging after all we've been through?
