The 2024 total solar eclipse is just a few months away, and while some celestial aficionados booked their hotels far in advance of the April 8 event, there’s still time to find a place to stay in the path of totality. Rooms, tours and special eclipse viewing events have long been sold out, but a new tool courtesy of Expedia can help you find and book accommodations.

The travel platform has experienced a surge in searches for hotels in cities and towns along the path of totality in Texas, up by 500-800%. In Indiana, searches have increased by 1685%, while hotel searches in Buffalo for the day of the eclipse are up a whopping 2575%.

For eclipse-chasers late to the game, however, Expedia makes it easy to find a place to stay—especially if you’re not particular about which city or town. First, download the Expedia app. In the app, you can choose the category "Stays" and search "total solar eclipse." The tool will then show you what’s available along the path so you can choose whatever option works best for you. Browse rates, dates and type of accommodation.

It’s not too late to make plans for the eclipse, so go to Expedia.com to download the app and find your stay.
