While savvy travelers await the reveal of The World’s 50 Best Hotels on October 30, a brand-new extended list of the properties that claimed spots from 51-100 just dropped. The inaugural list expands the rankings of the hotels that define global hospitality.
Out of 50 honorees, 12 North American properties earned a place on the extended list, with New York City leading the charge. Aman New York at number 61 headlines the city’s contingent, followed by The Carlyle (64), The Fifth Avenue Hotel (75) and The Greenwich Hotel (77). Each brings its own flavor of Manhattan magic—Aman’s sleek serenity, The Carlyle’s timeless Upper East Side elegance, The Fifth Avenue’s fresh opulence and The Greenwich’s artful downtown charm.

Of the other U.S. properties that made the extended list, Four Seasons at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida at number 58 is the country’s highest ranked hotel. Originally a 1930s social club, it’s now a palm-lined playground of ocean views, private cabanas and understated glamour. On the West Coast, The Beverly Hills Hotel (65) continues its century-long reign as Hollywood’s pink palace, while San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara (68) offers storybook cottages in the foothills. Utah’s desert-chic Amangiri (98) rounds out the U.S. set with sculptural minimalism and soul-stirring canyon views.
South of the border, Mexico dazzles with three entries: Four Seasons Tamarindo at number 55, Montage Los Cabos (67) and Rosewood Mayakoba (95). Tamarindo, the region’s top performer, is a cliffside sanctuary where infinity pools meet Pacific horizons. Built into a nature reserve, it’s a rare blend of eco-conscious design and barefoot luxury.
Completing the North American lineup is the Caribbean’s Eden Rock, St. Barths (90), the legendary island icon beloved by artists and jetsetters alike.
