It’s been a busy summer for travel, and this weekend marks the last big push before summer ends. More people have been traveling this summer, according to Tripadvisor’s Summer Travel Index, and the long Labor Day weekend is expected to be on par with the rest of the season. So where are people going? Tripadvisor has the details on the most popular destinations in the U.S. for the upcoming holiday.

Major cities and beach towns top the list of domestic Labor Day travel destinations, according to Tripadvisor’s survey. Number one on the list is Las Vegas, a prime party spot for saying sayonara to summer. New York, always a popular destination regardless of the season, comes in at number two. Orlando—home of the country’s top amusement parks, of course—lands at number three. Myrtle Beach, Chicago, Honolulu, San Diego, Ocean City, Key West and Miami Beach round out the top 10.

Wherever you’re going for the holiday, the roads are expected to be busy with thousands of travelers. To maximize vacation time, plan strategically and check out the best and worst times to hit the road for Labor Day weekend. The best advice is to hit the road early, especially if you’re going to any of these popular destinations—no one wants to miss out on precious down time by getting stuck in traffic!
