The busiest travel time of the year is upon us, and anyone who’s flying for the holidays is likely dreading potential delays and cancellations. It’s almost a given that you’ll experience one or the other, unless you’re flying one new airline that was recently named among the most reliable in the industry.
Avelo Airlines, which launched in 2021, had the lowest rate of flight cancellations of all U.S. airlines in 2023. The carrier was also ranked number one in on-time performance. According to airline data from market research firm Anuvu, 83.3% of Avelo flights landed within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time. That’s quite an achievement given that the industry average is 77.3%. Avelo’s flight cancellation rate was just 0.1%, compared to the industry average of 1.4%.
Avelo announced that between December 14th and January 3rd, it will fly more than 160,000 customers, a 43% increase over the same period last year.
