After being named the best pizza in the U.S., Una Pizza Napoletana has earned another accolade: second-best pizza in the entire world. The Lower East Side favorite received the designation from Italy’s 50 Top Pizza, a team of Italian food and beverage journalists who annually curate a list of the best pizzerias in Italy, Europe, Asia and the U.S.
The judges praised Una Pizza Napoletana for its authenticity, quality, attention to detail and, most importantly, delicious pizzas. The pies here are second only to a pizza found in, unsurprisingly, Naples. New Yorkers will attest that their pizza is without a doubt the best outside of Italy, and 50 Top Pizza included four more New York pizza spots—Flip at number 22, Song'E Napule at number 33, Kesté at number 72 and Ops at number 92—in the top 100.
But NYC is not the only U.S. city with pizza worthy of a 50 Top Pizza nod. According to the judges, outstanding pizzas can be found in Jersey City, Portland, San Francisco, Phoenix, Miami, Kenmore, Rhode Island, Chicago and Tampa.
