If you’re hitting the road this month for the holidays, you may have to worry about more than just getting stuck in a traffic jam. If you’re driving through certain cities, you might encounter some exceptionally naughty drivers too. Fuel savings platform GasBuddy has released its annual Naughtiest and Nicest Holiday Driving Cities list, and the results point to Tucson, AZ as the city with the most aggressive drivers.

To compile the list, GasBuddy analyzed millions of drives during Thanksgiving weekend 2023. The study measured the number of incidents of speeding, hard braking and fast acceleration.

Following Tucson, the most aggressive holiday drivers can be found in Nashville, Orlando, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Richmond, Salt Lake City, Buffalo, Memphis and Oklahoma. Tampa dropped off the top ten list this year while New Orleans rose to make the list at number 5.

On the other end of the spectrum, drivers in Minneapolis proved to be the least aggressive, followed by Providence, Portland, Seattle, Cleveland, Norfolk, Hartford, Las Vegas, Rochester and Columbus.

“Driving during the holiday season can be stressful, but it's important to remember to stay calm and courteous on the road," said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Additionally, aggressive driving can negatively impact fuel efficiency, causing drivers to waste money that could be spent on holiday celebrations or gifts for loved ones.”
