Airbnb is the place you look for unconventional accommodations. Celebrity guesthouses? You’ll find them. Rooms dangerously close to a bar? They’ve got those too. Now, for all of you wishing to take your coastal grandmother aesthetic one step further this summer, this historic lighthouse on Lake Superior in Michigan is just the place to break out your crisp linen outfits and cardigans.

Eagle River Lighthouse was built in 1855 entirely of red stone and decommissioned in 1909. Since then, it’s been under private ownership and now accepting reservations. The restored three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home can accommodate up to six guests and it’s packed with all kinds of modern amenities. You’ll want to curl up with a book in the all-season sunroom, whip up something tasty in the large gourmet kitchen and spend time wandering around the grounds, which are just steps away from Lake Superior. Round out your romantic comedy stay with a walk along the beach, stargazing and a stroll through the charming historic village of Eagle River. Guests also rave about the sunsets here.

According to the listing, “Everything is included for a comfortable stay. All you need are groceries and a relaxed state of mind…” and maybe a cardigan. National Lighthouse Day is August 7 but who says you can't celebrate the made-up holiday all summer long? Click here to book.
