A new Universal Studios theme park is well on its way! The previously announced, brand new Universal project in Frisco, Texas, just unveiled new details. And the new Universal Kids Resort looks amazing for families.
Located just outside Dallas, Universal Kids Resort promises the same immersive theme as Universal's beloved Florida and California parks. Various areas or "lands" will bring characters to life for a younger set of guests. Family-friendly attractions include interactive shows, unique merchandise, fun food and beverage venues and character meet and greets. Rides will be age-appropriate and not too scary or height-restrictive.
No specific themes or characters have been revealed yet, but ground broke on the project in November 2023, and more details will be shared as the 97-acre park gets built. The smaller size of the park is designed to appeal to regional guests (that is, it won't be as much a destination as the Orlando complex). For travelers, the resort area will offer a 300-room-themed hotel for families to stay before or after enjoying the park.
"Universal Kids Resort will inspire the unbridled creativity of kids through imagination, discovery and most importantly—play," said Molly Murphy, President, Universal Creative. "We're designing the resort so kids and families can feel the thrill of being physically immersed in their most beloved stories and characters."
An opening date has yet to be announced, but those with little ones may want to plan to visit Universal Orlando, where a brand new Minion Land just opened in the park.
