The wait is over, and we now know who is playing the halftime show at the Super Bowl this year. Usher—whose lengthy list of hits includes "U Got It Bad," "U Don’t Have to Call," "Nice & Slow" and "Yeah"—will headline Apple Music's Super Bowl 2024 halftime show in Las Vegas.

The announcement was teased in a series of videos, most notably one starring Kim Kardashian. Usher is currently performing his extensive catalog of R&B hits in Las Vegas with his concert series Usher – My Way The Residency. The series is set to end in December, but now the singer will stick around a little longer to tackle his next role as a Super Bowl superstar. Here’s what we know about the halftime show so far.

Has Usher ever done the halftime show before?

Usher joined the Blackeyed Peas on stage at Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but this year will be the first time Usher has headlined the halftime show.

Usher officially revealed the announcement this past Sunday in an interview with Apple Music, after a series of teaser videos featuring the likes of Marshawn Lynch, Deion Sanders and Odell Beckham Jr. hit the internet. Kim Kardashian stepped in to help with the final reveal.

The one and only Jay-Z—whose Roc Nation partners with the NFL to produce the show, and who made the call to Usher to break the news—chimed in, saying “Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul. His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”
