It is one thing to land on an interesting recipe, go to the supermarket to grab all necessary ingredients and then try your hand at it. It is quite another thing to try to execute a recipe with the ingredients we already have at home—which is exactly what has been happening in kitchens all across America as folks have been avoiding unnecessary trips to the supermarket.

Whole Foods has vowed to make our lives a bit easier by delving into the topic of food substitutions, effectively teaching us how to cook with what we already have at home—no matter what it is that we're trying to concoct.

Home Ec 365 is a new virtual series that will also explore the topics of food waste, proper kitchen cleaning methods, grocery budgets and more. Each class is completely free, although you'll have to purchase your own supplies to work alongside the instructors. You can register for each class right here.

The supermarket chain has enlisted the help of a few different influencers to lead the classes. Sophia Roe will teach us how to transform food scraps and leftovers into delightful new dishes; Bobby Parrish will delve into smart shopping; and Joy Wilson will get creative when swapping called-for ingredients with what we already have in the fridge.

This seems indeed like the right time to really learn how to cook—we're all home most of the time anyway, aren't we?
