How much would you shell out to live in the former home of one of the greatest American writers of all time?

One Frank Viggiano is betting the answer to that is "quite a bit." In fact, the house flipper is currently selling Jack Kerouac's former abode at 5169 10th Ave. N in St. Petersburg, Florida, for $350,000.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Viggiano and his wife bought the 1,760-square-foot house back in June for $220,000 and then "restored the home's classic look rather than modernize it."

The late beatnik author lived in this particular home with his mother and his wife from 1965 until he passed of liver cirrhosis on October 21, 1969. After the women's respective deaths, the abode was used by Kerouac's brother in law, John Sampas, for vacationing. Once he died in 2017, he passed on the ownership to his own son, Shen-Sampas, still part of the Kerouac estate.

In addition to three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the future home owner will also be treated to certain items that "might have belonged to Kerouac or his wife, Stella." These include books (obviously), drinking glasses (also, obviously), a table, china, three sewing machines and a bed frame, among other things. (Note: the Kerouac estate hasn't confirmed that the various items actually belonged to the writer and his family).

Although living in the same space that was once home to a genius artist might seem delightful, prospective buyers should be aware that plenty of Kerouac fans take trips to visit the property, take photos alongside it and sometimes even knock on the door. But that's the price of fame now, isn't it?

Feel free to browse through photos of the home and learn more about the address right here.
