Coming soon to Netflix: 3,000 dogs and 200 breeds.

For the first time ever, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be streamed live on Netflix, bringing America's second-longest continuously held sporting event after the Kentucky Derby—and cutest competition—to even more viewers.

The 151st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show takes place January 30 through February 2, 2027. Its daytime breed and agility events are held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City and its evening group judging and Best in Show are hosted at Madison Square Garden.

Netflix’s Tudum and westminsterkennelclub.org will simultaneously broadcast the three-day, three-night competition live, including its Best in Breed competition. The most important part, the evening judging at Madison Square Garden on February 1-2, will stream on the Netflix app. Its Masters Agility Championship will be taped for a later broadcast.

Not only that, but the finals for the 93rd Annual Junior Showmanship competition at Westminster on February 2, (also at MSG) will also be streamed live on Netflix.

“Following the momentum of Westminster’s historic 150th event earlier this year, we are thrilled to begin an exciting new chapter with Netflix as our media partner,” said Dr. Donald Sturz, president of the Westminster Kennel Club. “Bringing the Westminster Dog Show to Netflix not only expands the reach of this iconic event, but also introduces the sport of dogs to new audiences around the world.”

Before Netflix, the competition aired on Fox Sports (since 2017), the USA Network (starting in 1984), and CBS (starting in the 1960s), according to Deadline.

Founded in 1877, the Westminster Kennel Club is America’s oldest organization dedicated to the sport of dogs. It’s transformed over the years from a traditional breed judging into a larger celebration of canine athleticism and companionship, where dogs compete by completing obstacle courses that test speed, focus, and teamwork.

It starts with breed judging, where dogs compete against others within their own breed, with winners advancing into one of seven groups. The winner of each group advances to the final Best in Show competition.

According to Tudum, it’s not just a dog show: “This is the Super Bowl, Met Gala, Olympics, and Broadway opening night of the dog world, all rolled into one.”
