Planning on flying on Alaska Airlines any time soon? Be sure to bring a mask along.

The carrier announced that it will now enforce its mandatory face covering policy on all flights by issuing "yellow cards" to passengers who refuse to abide by the rules.

The written warnings read: "The safety of guests and employees is always our top priority, but we also need your cooperation to help keep each other safe. This is why Alaska Airlines requires guests to wear a face mask or covering while on board, except when eating or drinking."

After receiving the notice, a passenger's travel plans will be under review by the airline. The company might potentially decide to ban non-complying folks from flying on their carriers in the future.

The company made the announcement on an official blog post earlier this week. "We understand not everyone is able to wear a face covering when traveling," reads the post. "A few exceptions include children under age 2; anyone with a medical issue that creates trouble breathing; anyone who cannot remove a mask without assistance; or anyone with a disability that prevents wearing a mask."

If you happen to forget your face covering at home, worry not, the airline will supply you with one alongside individual hand-sanitizer wipes on board.

Alaska Airlines isn't the only company that has vowed to punish those refusing to wear masks on board. Just last month, United Airlines announced it will place those who opt out of donning face coverings on a "no-fly" list. Overall, air carriers around the country are implementing all sorts of safety measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19

"We realize a piece of fabric across your nose and mouth is probably not your ideal way to travel," reads Alaska Airlines' announcement. "But if we all take that small step while flying, we'll be better off in the long run." We couldn't agree more.
